Blogging or not? Are You Loosing Out With Blogging?

It’s a fact: blogging is in.

Everybody knows what it is; a vast number of people are doing it. It has turned into a fashionable activity on line: a blog is interactive, up-to-date, “easy” to fly through (hence it is usually all on one page), and the blog author can make some money…

It is an excellent opportunity for some authors. If you are at home in a fast-living and quickly changing issue where you are all the time up-to-date and you ought to stay on top, blogging is the right medium for you.

And what, if you prefer instead to work at your own pace?

What is the blunt reality behind the scenes?

Well….here is some revealing truths about the downside of blogging:

  • Blogging forces you to produce well researched, quality posts … all the time … and don’t even think about taking a break. Especially “full time blogging puts you under constant pressure and can cause stress and strain even your health!”
  • Blogging lives from frequent posts. As soon as you take it easier or take a longer break, your blog’s traffic is decreasing fast or even dieing

  • People visiting your blog come to read the most up-to-date post and then leave again. (Or do you regularly plough through all those outdated postings on a blog?)
  • No traffic means no income
  • Building a “binding” relationship to your readers with short-living blog content is almost an impossible task

Even some very successful blog authors admit that they are actually not really “blogging”, but writing very good, unique articles which they market really successfully instead!

Still, you can read a lot of articles praising the creation of a blog as an easy, fast set up solution to build your own web presence. Even small businesses might find this as the cheap and easier alternative to a website, because

  • Blogs are hosted free of charge ( e.g. Wordpress, Blogger)
  • The blog host provides all necessary software and tools

  • Putting a blog to life and publishing on line is really just a button-click away

Obviously, if you want to sell a service or a product or make money from advertising programs like AdSense, blogging is the hard way to do it.

As an entrepreneur you rely on good traffic figures, on regularly revisiting readers who trust you and will appreciate the quality information you give them.

This process is called “pre-selling”: building a strong relationship between you and your visitors who will accept your expertise and who will finally decide on buying from you, instead of the guy who over-promises, but sells just worthless junk.

Conclusion:

People, who want to make seriously money online, should consider building a solid webpage instead. It’s on the long run (we are talking in terms of years) definitely a less stressful, traffic-wise secure way to earn online an income.
